Companion to the main schedule of works — this covers the kitchen fit-out end to end. The order below matters: every design decision sits in step 1 because two of them lock the worktop cutouts, and the extractor is ordered first because the hood can't be built without the unit in hand. Solid squares are Ian's; dashed squares are ours.

Agree & Order
Gates everything below
One sitting, all decisions. Nothing downstream can be locked in until these are.
- Agree pantry interior configuration.Determines where pantry sockets and lighting go — needed before first fix.
- Agree island socket design and confirm what's happening with them.If pop-up or worktop-recessed, the cutouts must be locked before templating.
- Agree hood design.
- Agree design for above the fridge and freestanding freezer.
- Order the extractor unit — the Caple cable model as discussed.Longest lead-time item; hood enclosure is built to its dimensions.
- Sink and hob — already ordered.Sink: [model] · Hob: [model]. Both cutouts set at templating; if the sink is undermount, the fabricator will want the actual sink on site on template day.
- Choose worktop material. Ours
- Purchase the additional Quooker parts on our behalf.Needed on site before tap install in step 4.
- Choose kitchen unit handles. Ours

Build Pantries
Gates building-regs sign-off
The electrician won't sign off the extension until the pantry wiring is in — so this step holds up more than the kitchen.
- Build the pantries to the agreed interior configuration.
- Fit pantry sockets.
- Fit pantry lighting.
3
Template Worktops
Units and pantries fixed in position first. Every cutout locked: sink, hob, Quooker tap, island sockets. Allow 1–3 weeks fabrication after template.
- Measure and template the worktops.Sink on site for template day if undermount.
4
Fit Worktops & Appliances
- Fit worktops.
- Install the sink.
- Fit and install the Quooker tap.
- Fit the hob into the worktop.Gas connection is the plumber's — Gas Safe registered. Coordinate so he follows straight on.
5
Hood & Finishing
- Build and install the hood around the arrived extractor unit.
- Build cabinetry above the fridge and freestanding freezer to the agreed design.
- Fit the island sockets to the agreed design.
Coordination points
Electrician: pantry sockets and lighting (step 2) unblock his compliance sign-off — he's confirmed he's happy for Ian to arrange the remaining wiring.
Plumber: needed after step 4 for the gas connection to the hob and the sink waste.
Us: worktop material and handles both land in step 1 — chase us if we're the hold-up.
